Probate Record for Compiled by Michael L. Gililland |
|---|
Andrew Jackson Gililland was the youngest son of
Mathias R. Gililland
and Catey Hendricks. Many of his descendants continue living in the
Hawk Point area of Missouri.
Date of Letters: 15 February 1905
Date of Death: 7 February 1905
Adminstrators: John A. Gililland (son) and Amos Rinaman (son-in-law)
Lists only heirs as: Camilia (wife, living in Lincoln County), son Charles M. Gililland (Lincoln County), daughter Carrie Holley (1217 Chambers Street, St. Louis, MO), son John A. Gililland (Lincoln County), daughter Maggie Rinaman (Lincoln County), son Alfred Gililland (Lincoln County), Willie Holley (grandson by Fannie Holley), and Cora Isabel (Oklahoma, granddaughter by Fannie Holley).
Analysis: Listed heirs include all known living children
except
Francis A.
FANNIE HOLLEY reference... Andrew obviously had a daughter Fannie,
but she is not listed as an heir. Fannie's two children are listed.
From other records, it is believed Andrew had a daughter Francis A.,
married to George W. Howell, Lincoln County, 22 September 1878. It
could be presumed that the administrators did not know Francis was
still alive. Her children are listed as living in Oklahoma. However,
Francis died in Lincoln County in 1911. The confusion in the last name,
"Howell" or "Holley", has been reported elsewhere and is unresolved. It
could be assumed the administrators were mistaken in referring to
Holley rather than Howell, were it not for the unfortunate fact that
the probate judge was Frank Howell who would not have made such a
mistake regarding his own kin.
